About Me

For me it is All About Being of Service & Living the Life of the Give-Away....

Being Mindful of those who are unable to speak for themselves; our Non-Two Legged Relations and the Future Generations.

It's about walking on the Canka Luta Waste Behind the Cannunpa and the ceremonies.

It's about Mindfulness and Respect. It's about Honesty and owning up to my foibles.

I'm Baaaaaaaaack From Mexico

Mexico:

I'm home early.... Mexico is in to poisoning their people, seriously.

Food (if you can call it that) is mostly owned by Nestle & other shit-head companies. Most all food filled w/ a shit-load of chemicals, so if you want it fresh, you go to the "mercados", which are quite nice. Fresh pineapple, coconut, berries, figs.... etc.

Water non-potable, so you buy bottled water (Nestle & Coca-Cola), or you drink sugared carbonated juices.

Salt is fluoridated! I kid you not!

Cleaning fluids "Fabuloso"... so fking TOXIC that I went into an asthma attack (which I haven't done in over 12 years) and had to leave 5 days early....

On top of which; I was made fresh Chicken soup to help me, but it was made w/ Knorr's bullion and that gave me food poisoning.

The Indigenous people there (who make up the majority of the population) are so beaten down..... Every time I was on the Metro (several times a day), with the exception of a few "abuelas" who spoke w/ me they all looked dead. So the people there, especially the women, merely exist but are not living.

Metro is good, during certain hours 6 of the front cars are reserved for women & children under 12 only, and I watched several men be escorted off.

I always was given a seat either on the Metro or the bus, but my friend was not..... Even some drugged up teen w/ his girlfriend gave me his seat....

I was able to get to Teotihuacan and get the most of my work done, found a lot of old obsidian pebbles.....

Got my copal (black) 1 key $20... $10 lb, which you do not get here.

Got photos of inside Frida's Casa Azul.

The buildings, with the exception of some of the old colonials and 2 u.s. style wood ones are all made of cement blocks and covered w/ cement. ALL have bars on the windows and are behind some type of cement wall w/ iron doors....

The apartments have NO Closets or bathroom ventilation, even two bedrooms are tiny and the kitchens are smaller than mine (I didn't know that was possible). Many are built lower than their parking areas, so they have metal barriers for the building's doors and tiled steps (to step over) at front doors. The locks on the doors are heavy duty (think New York).

There are a lot of trees, where I stayed there were Cedars....

There are many green strips through the center of the highways... You have to pay $1.00 to enter Mexico City & $1.00 to leave via the main highway.

Beer is like $2.00 a bottle as opposed to $6.95- 8.95.....

There are a ton of little tienditas up & down the street.... forgot tortillas, run out of beer, need water; walk across/up/down the street to one of the several local stores.

Not as many people begging, many vendors on the metro...

Mothers' day, the buses are free. Senior most of the museums are free as is the metro. Frida's Casa Azul cost about $10 to get in to, as a senior we got in for less than $1.00

I did a whole lot of "readings" and some of the warnings came to pass immediately..... Go figure.

I was psychically attacked, Very Bad thing to do if you're going to show yourself & gloat about it.....

I was often "locked in/out" the apt I was staying in.... sucked. I was often stuck w/ my friend & her 18 mo old granddaughter, who was in need of full-time attention, so she was always with her (kid has a play-pen but they won't use it), mostly in the other room trying to get her to nap w/ Disney Jr. LOUDLY on the t.v. in both rooms....

It STORMED upon coming back from Teotihuacan, over at the pyramids and you could see it from the road... and for all the other nights Rain, Thunder & Lightening as well, which caused the apt. (built lower than the parking lot) to flood.... water simply overflowed the storm drains (a common occurrence) and backed up into the apt of the friend I was staying with..... It also rained here!

Food is very inexpensive, but not great..... Tongue is about the same (even at Costco), but the shrimp was a bit less, and the 750 ml bottle of Cazadores (which I left behind) was only $8.00.

The "party" held for me, I paid for the food & tequila, the younger family didn't show up until after we had eaten.... I was mostly not spoken to, and I felt like a stranger/intruder as it was one of the girl's birthday.....

I did not stay where I thought I'd be staying, which made me very uncomfortable.

I don't like being a "guest" in other peoples' houses, as I tend to pay 99.9% for my own way (food drinks entertainment) and feel like a hostage, but do not expect the same from my guests.

Going to the pyramids... do not purchase from inside vendors and do take a magnet w/ you to test what they sell as silver... Their jewelry is not silver (the magnet held it) and the prices are higher than those of the vendors who are in permanent tienditas outside the pyramids.... The vendors w/ tienditas are more honest, kind, have better prices & REAL silver.

Driving..... Well, they drive like maniacs. weaving in & out, cutting in & out, but with way fewer accidents than the Armenians here!
Also there are no smog/emission devices on the vehicles so the air is dirty and so thick you can see it..... What are they doing about it? On any given day they selectively choose the last 3 digits of license plates and those people whose license plates have those last 3 digits are not allowed to drive those vehicles.... Which meant I was unable to go & do some of my errands.
China Town: many Armenian, Korean, & Japanese items for sale... Much better prices for the same things as here. There is one good restaurant w/ a full Chinese menu (two doors down from the buffet), but my friend preferred the buffet which was Tourist Cantonese basic crap....
Natural remedies are abundant in the mercados and homeopathy is available all over in little stores with licensed homeopathic practitioners.... Pharmacies & generics are also readily available.
Children are amazingly better behaved, especially in public

I have no plans on returning to Mexico (famous last words)....
