Food Safety Cuts: ACT NOW

This week the House will vote on a bill setting the budget for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration for 2015. When the bill goes to the floor there will be many amendments on important food issues.

In addition to these cuts to poultry inspection, members of Congress may try to take away country-of-origin labeling for our food. This is critical information that helps you and I decide what to buy, but the big industrial food companies don't like it.

There will be many amendments, but two other critical ones protect farmers and improve school nutrition standards. You can read all the details in the letter on our action page.
