- eBay:
Since the infamous Harridan, Meg Whitman, took over, destroyed, & left eBay....what is left of the global community marketplace?
Auctions have become a joke.... Opening bids have become a joke. Commercial sellers have taken over what was once a good place to shop. Finding something from a non-commercial seller has almost become impossible.
eBay has become all about GREED and the Almigty Dollar/Pound Euro.Items that have a modicum of worth are now going for outrageous prices. Opening bids are prohibitive.
I recently purchased a rather expensive Renaissance gown. The workmanship would make my mother have a fit. This was from a "professional" LARP/SCA clothing provider. Even I Know how to turn an edge and blind stitch a seam in the SAME color thread as the material. Thankfully, when I contacted the seller about the shoddy workmanship, I was allowed a refund..... That is integrity!
I queried a seller about a ring they were selling.... They are professional sellers but know Nothing about carat & mm sizes? How can this be? How difficult can it be to look the information up, buy a ruler w/ cm/mm on it and give the correct information?
I occasionally attempt to sell some of my more desired items on eBay.... I never ask for more than the original purchase price, in fact I Always post for much less. I do ship Flat Rate Priority w/ Tracking, and I charge the USPS fee.
I just want to do business w/ small time business & regular people like myself, not Commercial Sellers who make eBay into a High End Online Mall. I want to deal with Honest sellers. I want Integrity, the same I offer when I sell something.... Is this too much to ask?
After all: it is all just "Stuff"....and in the end, we are not going to be taking any of this Stuff with us....
So Be Square and Be Fair!
