I am an owner of a "Kangen Level Luk Jr.™".
I purchased this machine 3 years ago.... There are definite pros & cons. The pros are all about my health (which was damn good to begin with), but seems to have improved. Alkaline water has definitely improved the cleanliness and taste of my food and coffee/tea. It is wonderful as it diminished headaches from champagne & other alcohol, and it keeps my liver flushed as well. The 9.5 cleans all my foods & vegetables of pesticides & other suficant chemicals as well as my carpet of stains.
But the cons outweigh the price. The machine (with every 15 minutes of use) cleans itself, but my machine cleans itself Every-Single-Time I turn it on (I run it for less than 2 minutes each time I use it.)! I have sent the machine in 3 times for repair, it still cleans itself Every-Single Time I turn it on. When I called the Torrance office, I was treated very rudely, as if I were stupid & knew not what I was talking about.
The machine also has to be manually cleaned every month with "normal use".... This is a pain in the tush, and Kangen distributors Do NOT tell you this until AFTER you purchase a machine.
The Kangen distributors Do Not tell you that: you have to purchase a new filter at least every year and depending on the area you live in, you will certainly need a dual chamber/stage filter on your water line, to keep the sediment out of the machine, because the sediment found in even "Clean" water clogs the flow.
They Do Not tell you that you "should" run the machine on ACID at least 1-2 minutes before running Alkaline (in order to keep the plates clean) every time you use the machine.
They do NOT Tell you that if you have calcium kidney stones or high potassium Not to Drink the water. After my cat became expen$ively ill, I was poo-pooed by the distributor, but in fact, it is stated on the lower left front of the machine in small print to definitely avoid the Alkaline water.
Another complaint I have is: What to do with all the EXTRA water that you do not use to drink or cook with. Because there are two hoses and the water is split into two unequal parts. Currently I water my plants with the acidic water, but not all plants like acidity. Then there is the water that is spent from the cleaning process....what do you do with that?
I hate wasting water.... So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I want the health benefits from the Alkaline water, but I don't want the waste or the time consumption of cleaning the machine or it cleaning itself more than necessary.
When I purchased my Kangen machine, there were very few on the market that could compare, so I purchased it. Now I know that there are better/equal machines for the same amount of money as the Level Luk Jr. ™. Kangen only has a 3 year warranty on this particular machine... I have had mine in the shop 3 times within the first 1.5 years, and it still needs to go in for an adjustment. There are other machines on the market for the same price that have a Life-Time warranty and have 4 more solid plates than the Level Luk Jr. ™ (that makes for 7).
Health wise, ALKALINE Water is the way to go, but, before you spend the extra money on a Kangen machine, I suggest that you do some serious research and definitely shop around. I'd most definitely suggest you look @ the Life 7.0 machine. Or if you find the cost prohibitive then you go to your grocery store and look for Elemental or Essentia Alkaline water. In the long run the bottled water will cost you more than a machine, but until you're serious enough to buy a machine, the bottled water is the way to go.
Drink up & Salud!
