I Am Happy to Be Me!
I understand why someone might want to change places with me.....
I get along with the staff, with the managers, and the customers. For lack of a better word*, I have been given a moderate amount of "authority*" and I am given respect.... While someone, on the other hand, may not.
It took me effort and time to learn/know my job as well as I do. I know standard procedures and policy. I train the staff on the same. What we do not know, I find out... I do NOT make up policy as I go along, nor do I change it to make myself popular.
I am Not so needy that I:
* Announce to the staff: "Your supervisor is gone, I Am Your Supervisor Today"
* Ignore policy as an act of self-righteous power-tripping
* Make deals with the staff when they are tardy while telling them: "Don't worry I won't tell your supervisor"
* When dealing w/ another staff member, I do not claim to be "A Good Christian" or any other religion, when in fact I am not and what I am doing is hiding information from another supervisor while trying to curry favor and friendship.
The difference is: I Work, I make myself available to help others.
I do Not claim to have an infliction that keeps me from working, yet sit at my desk all day cutting out & gluing pictures, writing/typing false documentation about what everyone else is supposedly saying & doing, or merely staring at my blank computer screen. Nor do I say: "I would help you, but I hurt too much..."
I care more about the overall success of the staff and services we provide than I do my own ego. I do not seek to denigrate others for I know that everything I do for the success of others is a direct reflection of my own ethics and standards.
I Do Not want to be anyone else nor am I jealous of what others have achieved. I just do my best to be the best I can be without impinging on anyone else or their job.
I am thankful for who I am and what Creator has provided/allowed me and I make sure to live Every Day with an Attitude of Gratitude..... ♥
