The
Idaho Department of Fish and Game cited "unspecified safety reasons"
for keeping secret a helicopter wolf hunt in the Lolo zone last month.
The department announced the control action in a Friday afternoon news release that said the wolves were killed in an effort to improve elk survival in the zone, which includes parts of the Lochsa and North Fork of the Clearwater River basins.
They have stated that elk numbers have plummeted in the area over the past 25 years, to 2,100 in 2010. But according to their own statistics on their websites, last year, several surveys concluded that Idaho holds a strong elk population of 120,000 animals. (This is a surprise given how fast hunters are using them for target practice).
And again, The Dept of Fish and Game's own website CONFIRMS this number of 120,000:

The Obama administration has declared its own war on wolves. Administrations, with a few exceptions, always favour special interests. In the case of wolves, this means the hunting and ranching industries.
So what is the real reason for the execution of the wolves? Why are they now secretly murdering them?
We can only surmise it is as everyone already knows, because they have declared war on the wolves.

Note: There are some coyotes in this photo along with the dead wolves. This is a photo from the Wolf and Coyote Kill Idaho did roughly 8 to 10 weeks ago.
