CA Has Done Away With City/County Bans on GMOs

The amendment in AB 2470 that prohibited any county from adopting or enforcing a law banning or regulating GMO crops after January 1, 2015, unless approved by the Secretary of Agriculture, was supported by the California Seed Association, whose members include BASF, Bayer, Monsanto and Syngenta. The usual suspects working to squash democracy.BREAKING NEWS: California can rejoice - CA Assembly Bill 2470, passed in 2014 and prohibiting cities & counties from enacting bans on GMO crops, has been repealed.
The repeal of this section of AB 2470 clears the legal path for Sonoma County’s Measure M, a voter initiative to ban GMO crop cultivation within the county on the ballot this November. All unjust laws should be opposed and Sonoma County’s initiative would have moved forward regardless. But now, Measure M can be passed by voters without a protracted legal battle. So let’s step up and help Sonoma County pass Measure M. Donate and volunteer: https://gmofreesonomacounty.nationbuilder.com/donate
