California has a water fight on the November ballot! Food & Water Watch opposes Proposition 1, a $7.5 billion water bond that benefits corporate interests and doesn't create a drop of new water, improve efficiency or repair aging water infrastructure.
Our California team is taking a lead role in defeating this bond. CA director, Adam Scow, lays out why in this debate on KCRW Radio's Which Way LA? with Warren Olney.http://bit.ly/1BCTzpo
Who Benefits from Sacramento’s Water Compromise? 10 MIN, 34 SEC
Proposition 1 on the November ballot is a compromise between Democrats, Republicans and Governor Brown:
It’s a water bond for $7.5 billion — replacing an $11 billion measure that appeared too expensive to pass.
Much of it goes for two new dams that won’t be completed for at least a decade.
But Tim Quinn calls it “the right size and the right time.” He’s Executive Director of the Association of California Water Agencies — 440 different organizations that deliver 90% of the state’s water.
