In fact most all new Federal legislation regarding "preservation" of National Parks, Forests, & Land, has been sponsored by that moron Senator Ted Cruz....
I published about his tactics earlier this week...... I want you all to PAY REALLY CLOSE ATTENTION to what is going on.......
They are coming after our water.... they have been poisoning our water; they have passed legislation in NC, that forbids disclosure of the poisons they dump in the water; Nestles & Coca-Cola have been buying water rights from Native American tribes; "W" purchased a major aquifer in South America; and Keystone wants to put their pipeline on top of the Ogallala Aquifer........
There is a bill, a group and a movement to re-designate some of our national forest land as national recreation area.
It was sold as a plan that would improve recreation opportunities on a vast scale and pour financial resources into the mountains.
It is in fact backed by some impressive financial resources and oddly, when you meet the people leading the movement, they don't seem like your ordinary outdoor types. In fact many of them only visit the mountains a few times a year. They have grants to teach people how to be lobbyists and pour money into high profile art shows and most people have gone happily along with the plan.
Except for a few rugged and outspoken folks who suspected from the get-go that this was not about preservation or recreation or even about the land.
It's not. It's about the one thing more valuable...water. It's a water grab.
People are still going to flock toward the passage of this legislation which purports to protect land that is already federal and protected because they think it is the right thing to do.
In actuality, it is about insuring the interests of water suppliers.
The rest of the package - improved trails and trail signs in Korean was well as English, are in fact a part of the package, but water is at the heart of it.
